In addition to informing us of these job changes, Guerrilla Games announces that it wants to expand the world of Horizon with the production of new Aloy adventures, in addition to an online multiplayer game, also in development. Basically, Horizon 3 is indeed planned on PS5 and it will be necessary to wait a few more years before being able to discover it. Nothing surprising when you know what happens at the end of the events of Horizon Forbidden West and this open end which was obviously intended to extend the universe of the license. In short, if you like Aloy and mechanical monsters, you will probably be delighted with these new announcements.
Here is the message of Angie Smets
Hello everyone,
Exciting news! After almost 20 incredible years at Guerrilla, I am embarking on a new adventure as Head of Development Strategy at PlayStation Studios.
These past two decades at Guerrilla have been an absolute dream. I feel privileged to have worked alongside some of the smartest and coolest people in the industry. I’m so grateful for everything I’ve learned alongside all the other guerrillas. We’ve accomplished so much as a team, and I’m incredibly proud of all the games we’ve delivered together.
Special thanks to Jan-Bart van Beek and Michiel van der Leeuw. It feels like yesterday that we were figuring out how to craft and ship the first Killzone. Little did we know that we would end up leading Guerrilla together. You have become like brothers to me, and there is no way to thank you enough. I will miss you very much.
I couldn’t be happier to have Joel Eschler and Hella Schmidt join the Guerrilla management team alongside Jan-Bart van Beek. I have full confidence in their leadership as they steer Guerrilla into a bright future, expanding the world of Horizon with Aloy’s next adventure and our exciting online project.
And with Michiel focusing on future Decima engine technology and strategy, I have no doubt they will achieve even greater success. (For those interested in joining this amazing team, check out vacancies here: https://lnkd.in/g24ZxyC).
Luckily, I won’t look too far ahead at Guerrilla’s bright future, as I will still be based here in Amsterdam. And as I begin my new journey, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the incredibly talented teams around the world that make up PlayStation Studios.
Guerilla, thank you for 20 unforgettable years. I can’t wait for the sequel!
