Key features for the new Mercedes E-Class
With the new generation, a car that grows us on a dimensional basis again welcomes us. Coming with a length of 4,949 millimeters, a width of 1,880 millimeters, a height of 1,468 millimeters and a wheelbase of 2,961 millimeters, the car is 22mm longer than the previous generation E-Class. In parallel with this improvement on the outside, better legroom will be waiting for users at the rear. In addition to a 10 mm increase in knee distance and 17 mm in legroom, the rear elbow width also promises a significant increase of 1,519 mm. Reaching 25mm, this increase offers almost as much space as an S-Class. Luggage volume is up to 540 liters.
In the sixth generation with a short front axle extension, the long hood is followed by the cockpit positioned far back. The rear cabin design, positioned at the rear, comes with the trunk extension that follows it harmoniously.
In the exterior design of the car, we can say that the seat character we are used to continues. The radiator grille, which is designed in three dimensions in the outer structure, can gain an innovative, classic or sporty appearance depending on the design concept. Instead of the high-performance LED headlights offered as standard, DIGITAL LIGHT can be preferred as an option. The cockpit of the new E-Class carries the reflections of the new generation Mercedes product range. When the E-Class is equipped with the optional front passenger screen, the large glass surface of the MBUX Superscreen extends to the central screen, providing a holistic view. The fully digital instrument panel, located in the driver’s field of vision, is visually separated from this structure. In versions without a passenger screen, the screen is replaced by decorations that can be offered in different options.
Engine options
It has been announced that two different engine options will be offered for the new generation E-Class, one of which is gasoline and diesel, E 180 and E 220 d 4MATIC in the first stage in the Turkish market. The 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 167 horsepower in the E 180, with a 22 horsepower electric motor, will be offered only in Turkey in the world. This engine has 170 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The E 220 d 4MATIC diesel, which comes with a volume of 2.0 liters, will again stand out in terms of consumption efficiency. 195 horsepower and 440 Nm torque are also among the vital figures of this engine. Rechargeable hybrid engines come into play in the top packages for the E-Class. These versions, which are based on the 2.0-liter gasoline engine, promise a very successful pure electric driving range of 100 kilometers. With these engines, which come with remarkable power values approaching 380 horsepower, the 0-100 value of the family will improve up to 5.1 seconds.
