Attention, follow spoiler!
The Season 1 finale of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power featured some exciting revelations and confirmed various theories, previously set up by fans of the series. Mount Doom erupts. Sauron shows his true colors. And the stranger draws closer in the direction of a familiar magician.
However, the season 1 finale did not want to resolve a cliffhanger: that Fate of Isildur. The last time we saw him, he was buried under the rubble of a burning house. Did he survive? The Lord of the Rings series has kept this a big secret for some inexplicable reason.
The Lord of the Rings: Power Rings Season 2 reveals that Isildur is still alive
Anyone who is reasonably familiar with Tolkien’s Middle-earth cosmos knows that Isildur is another important role will play, especially in view of the events preparing for the War of the Ring. Now a new set picture reveals what we assumed anyway: Isildur returns. You can also watch it at Redanian Intelligence.

Maxim Baldry is back as Isildur – and he’s not alone. He is pictured with Nia Towle on set while filming at Frensham Little Pond in England. It is not yet known what role Towle will play. Redanian Intelligence speculates that it is Isildur’s future wife could act. Tolkien never gave her a name. The series could thus close a gap in the otherwise very precisely worked out Middle-earth story.
