The number of people who starved and died “to meet the Prophet Jesus” rose to 73

Malindi Police Chief Charles Kamau said in a statement that the number of bodies found in the Shakahola Forest near the Good News International Church in Malindi reached 73.

NUMBER OF DETENTIONS INCREASED

Kamau stated that most of their dead bodies were exhumed from the mass grave and that 3 more people were detained in connection with the incident. On the other hand, in the statement made by the Kenya Red Cross, it was stated that 112 people were missing.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In the national media reports, the pastor of the Good News International Church, Paul Mackenzie Nthenge, went hungry to the people in his church and left the Prophet. It was stated that he promised to meet Jesus.

Police detained Nthenge after the bodies of four people suspected of starvation were found on April 15. Interior Minister Kithure Kindiki said that the entire forest area was closed and declared a “crime scene”.

Kindiki stated that the perpetrators of this atrocity would be punished most severely and that stricter regulations were required for all churches, mosques, temples and synagogues.
