The race continued for Ström: “It was tough”

Halfway into the third round, Ström was up to 13th place in the Chevron Championship. In that situation she played excellent golf and had the weather for more. But the somewhat unexpected run that followed during the last one continued at the fourth round in Texas.

There were a total of 80 strokes and +8 in total in the competition. Preliminarily, she tied for 56th place.

— It was difficult and it is clear that I am disappointed. I perhaps felt that I wanted a little too much early in the round and so I had a little difficulty releasing my first double (on hole three).

It took until the 18th hole before Ström managed to poke in a birdie. But it was about time then.

Still, Ström, fourth in Hawaii last week, couldn’t be too disappointed with the effort in what was her first major since 2021.

— I leave here with a pretty good feeling, I still think I hit a lot of good shots. I take the score as it was today with a pinch of salt. I know today was tough.

Linnea Ström competes again already next week in the LPGA tour competition in Los Angeles. She is currently set for two more majors this year, the PGA Championship and the Evian Championship.
