The Kaup siblings put on a real show – securing

Oona and Veera Kauppi were responsible for all the goals of their team Team Thorengruppen in the Swedish floorball final.

Oona Kauppi hit a hat trick and Veera Kauppi one goal, when Team Thorengruppen from Uumja, represented by the twins, won the Swedish floorball championship. Pixbo Wallenstam fell 4–3 in the final played in Stockholm.

The championship was Thoren’s third in a row, and it has been in the finals and won the championship every year since it got a place in the main series from IKSU from Umeå. Also in previous years, Thoren has won the final by a goal difference from Pixbo.

Oona Kauppi revealed that she told the coach before the match that she would try to score four goals if given the chance.

– I made three, but I’m still happy, Kauppi assured for SVT (you switch to another service) after the match.

– I’m a little disappointed…, Thoren’s coach Daniel Jernberg said jokingly.

– No, he is absolutely fantastic!

In Oona Kaup’s opinion, Thorengruppen deserved its victory, although she admitted that winning the championship this time was very difficult.

– I don’t really understand what has happened. It’s just so sickly cool to be able to do this with this team, Kauppi beamed.

While Oona Kauppi relied on the number, Veera Kauppi scored a real dream goal in the final. He flipped the ball to the Pixbo goalkeeper by Ida Sundberg over to the finish line.

– It comes from somewhere in the spine. I’ve scored goals like that before, so why not do it in front of 10,000 spectators at Globen, Veera Kauppi stated For Expressen (you switch to another service).

Oona Kauppi was responsible for the only goal of the first period. Pixbo leveled and took a 2–1 lead in the second set, but Oona Kaup’s second hit leveled the score. by Emma Stenberg with the second goal, Pixbo once again took the lead, but first Veera Kaup’s solo goal and in the third period Oona Kaup’s third hit guaranteed the victory for Thoren.

In addition to Kaup’s siblings, Thorengruppen also has a striker Tuulia Aho and defenders Mia Vallenius and My Kippilä. However, Kippilä’s season ended a couple of months ago with knee surgery.

No Finns played in Pixbo Wallenstam.
