The action started in March, but was taken offline because GPs thought it was excessive that women had to examine their breasts every third day of the month, which was the message of the campaign. According to the Dutch College of General Practitioners (NHG), following this advice would lead to “unnecessary fear, worry and overdiagnosis”.
