The first messenger RNA technology transfer hub was officially inaugurated in Cape Town on Thursday. Launched in the heart of the Covid-19 pandemic, in particular by the World Health Organization, it should make it possible to share know-how to manufacture RNA vaccines locally with other low-income countries, and no longer entirely dependent on global supply.
