It’s that time again – Xur, the mysterious agent of the Nine, will make his weekly visit to Destiny 2. Though many players wish Xur would be gone forever, he will continue to delight you with his presence.
Why are so many Guardians so upset with Xur’s arrival? Well, it’s no secret that Xur often has disappointing items on sale. Nevertheless, there are still players who hope that he has something useful with him this time. After all, you never know what treasures he hides under his coat.
So make sure you have enough Legendary Shards to purchase his wares in case he comes around the corner with a surprise. Meanwhile, we take a look at what’s been going on in Destiny 2 this week.
What happened in Destiny 2 this week? Destiny 2’s major midseason update was released on Tuesday, bringing some major changes and improvements to the game. This included optimizations in the Crucible and adjustments to weapons.
However, the game also sounded a bit different afterwards, as some players noted. And otherwise one was not at all satisfied with the update. It seemed to bring more bugs into the game than were fixed.

At least the exclusive event in Neomuna is doing better now. Here a player has created an option to quickly track down the event and bring players together.
Last but not least, Bungie addressed the final word on Ekuegan, the banned streamer:

Trials of Osiris from 04/21 – 04/25 – Map, weapons and info
Starting today, Friday, April 21st, players in Destiny 2 can once again compete in the 3-on-3 battles of the Trials, or “Trials of Osiris”.
What are the trials in Destiny 2?
The Trials of Osiris is a weekly PvP event where teams of three Wardens compete in a tournament style to claim victory. This is the endgame in PvP and it happens every weekend. The only exception is when the Iron Banner event is active. Then Saint-14 pauses in favor of Lord Saladin.
Which map is it this week? Each weekend, Trials of Osiris is fought on only one fixed map, as opposed to normal PvP, where the maps rotate. So Guardians need to focus on that particular map and adjust their strategy accordingly in order to be successful in the battles.
This week’s card is: n / A
If you are interested in playing the trials in a permanent team, MeinMMO recommends the callout maps via Warmind. This gives your fireteam a good description of where the opponents are on the map, which is useful information for the whole team.
How to get your loot: The Trials of Osiris feature a reputation ranking system. Your top loot reward from PvP matches is currently for:
This is the reward for a flawless run: Every week, a very special weapon awaits you on the lighthouse, which you get as a master version for your flawless run, i.e. 7 victories. You can earn the weapon until next Tuesday, April 25th at 7:00 p.m.
An adept weapon is always waiting for you as a reward if you make it safely into the lighthouse.
This week’s adept weapon is: n / A
All Trials weapons have a Trials origin perk: Haste – Improves reload, stability, aim assist, and range when you’re the last member of your fireteam alive or fighting alone.
You can focus your testing engrams on your desired weapon at the 14th saint. On top there are Enhancement Prisms and Ascendant Fragments. Keep in mind that once you have a complete pass, your reward increases even more – even if you lose a game or two.
When do the trials officially start? The Trials of Osiris begins today, April 14, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. and ends with the Weekly Reset, April 18, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.
Overall, Xur is an intriguing character in the world of Destiny 2 that never fails to surprise and disappoint. But what do you think of him? Are you a loyal follower of his exotic treasures or do you think he’s overused his tricks? Feel free to tell us in the comments.
