(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Malta will have a new flag carrier by the end of 2023. It is the consequence of the European Commission’s refusal to approve the 300 million euro recapitalization that the Valletta government was preparing to implement with regard to Air Malta.
David Curmipresident of the Maltese carrier, spoke of a forthcoming transition to a new national enterprise with characteristics comparable to those of a low cost carrier.
Air Malta currently counts a third of the thousand pre-Covid employees and should be transferred to the new airline, which would see the light with a five-year business plan.
