At least 24 people have been killed in two separate attacks in Burkina Faso, TT reports.

Jihadists are suspected of being behind the act.

Just a few days ago, more than 40 people were killed by jihadists in the country, most of the victims were civilians.

For just over a year, Burkina Faso has been ruled by a military junta, which has so far failed to push back the militant jihadists.

A man managed to alert the police shortly before 01 o’clock on the night of Thursday that he had been pulled into a van in central Gothenburg. There he is said to have been beaten and robbed of his wallet, mobile phone and necklace.

According to the police, the man, who was born in 1966, must have stated how the car drove away with him and then dumped him a bit outside of town. He then had injuries to his body, but should not have been in need of medical care.

  • So many roads are “very bad”

One in ten state roads in Sweden is in very poor condition, shows an analysis by Transportföretagen of the Swedish Transport Administration’s permit data.

The organization believes that the budget for road maintenance must increase by two billion kroner per year, so that more roads do not get worse.

“The analysis that we are now presenting shows that it has spread to the busy roads, where 83 percent of traffic work takes place,” says Marcus Dahlsten, CEO of Transportföretagen in a press release.

The most affected counties are Jämtland, Västernorrland and Gävleborg. In the former, around 20 percent of state roads were in very poor condition last year, and according to Transportföretagen, that number could double by 2032.

  • Permanent stop for ballet performance

Nudity and profanity have caused conservative Russians to seethe in Moscow. Now the ballet performance “Nureev” is banned by the Bolshoi Theater in the capital.

The decision comes as a result of the tightening of the law against “gay propaganda”, reports TT.

Behind “Nureev” is Kirill Serebrennikov, one of Russia’s most innovative and successful directors. He left the country in connection with Putin launching his war of aggression against Ukraine in February last year.

The performance is based on the life of superstar Rudolf Nerejev. He fled the Soviet Union in the 60s to find great success in the West – before dying aged 54 of AIDS.

According to Bolshoi Theater director Vladimir Urin, the decision has to do with a recently introduced addition to the law against “gay propaganda” originally passed in 2013.

In December, the ban on “propaganda in support of non-traditional sexual relations” was extended to also include adults. Previously, the law only applied to things aimed at children.

Norrtälje, like other municipalities, has had problems with defecating Canada geese at bathing areas in recent years. Now the municipality has decided to tackle the problem – and bought a green laser for around SEK 50,000.

    It reports SVT News.

    – Every year we spend one million kroner on sending out a team that cleans the municipality’s beaches of bird droppings. This measure will save money, says Nicklas Salmin (L), chairman of the culture and leisure board, to the channel.

The green laser is perceived as a threat by the geese, which leads them away from the bathing areas.

Norrtälje is the first municipality in Sweden to use the unconventional method to get rid of the geese.
