Heat records and brilliant sun – then it turns

Bring on the summer clothes! Then you can put them back. The heat is not here to stay. – There will be a cold period next week, says meteorologist Peter Kondrup. Wednesday was the hottest day of the year. At its highest, the thermometer showed 17.9 degrees, and it did so in Östmark in Värmland. – All the way up to Piteå it has been around 16 degrees. So spring heat in almost the entire country, says Peter Kondrup, meteorologist. But the heat record is expected to be broken already during Thursday. Also during Friday. – We may see the year’s first temperature above 20 degrees for this year on Friday, he says. Then it turns: “Snowfall” The heat makes a final spurt on Saturday, where large parts of the country continue to experience spring warmth. But on Sunday it will be cooler again. – We have a large rainfall area across the country. From the south all the way up to central Norrland. In parts of southern Norrland and Dalarna there will probably be snowfall and temperatures around zero degrees, says Peter Kondrup. – A little spring heat will still remain, partly in the south locally up to fifteen degrees. After that, the sun is expected to shine with its absence. Then the cold air moves in over the whole of Sweden. – It looks like it will be a cold week next week. We’ll see if things turn around before Walborg, says meteorologist Peter Kondrup.
