Every tenth road in very poor condition
One in ten state roads in Sweden is in very poor condition, shows an analysis by Transportföretagen of the Swedish Transport Administration’s permit data.
The organization believes that the budget for road maintenance must increase by two billion kroner per year.
The most affected counties are Jämtland, Västernorrland and Gävleborg. In the former, around 20 percent of state roads were in very poor condition last year, which risks doubling by 2032.
