According to a study carried out by the Gymlib sports platform, the priority of the French remains to practice a sporting activity, ahead of food and travel.
Each new year has its good resolutions. For the start of this year 2021, the desire to play sport remains at the top of the ranking of resolutions for the French, according to a study published by the Gymlib platform. If this need to practice a sporting activity comes back every year, it is now boosted by the period of confinement experienced in recent months. For 81% of French people, confinement was a lever to get back to sport.
In the event of re-containment, more than half of them say they are ready to practice their sport at home thanks to equipment, videos and distance lessons.
Food, the second concern of the French
In second place in the ranking comes the resolution on food. A logical continuation of sports practice, food plays an important role in well-being. 38% of French people say they want to eat better or eat less in order to lose weight in 2021. This resolution is closely followed by a desire for travel and getaways (29%) for the year to come.
While only 6% of respondents say they have achieved all of their goals for the past year, the tradition of good resolutions remains positive for the majority of French people. 87% see these resolutions as a new start every year and for 75% this is an additional motivation. Finally, to achieve their goals, 29% of respondents consider asking for help from an outside person.
