Wakker Dier, which is committed to animals in livestock farming, therefore believes that the inspectorate should look at many more farms. “The manpower of the NVWA is embarrassingly small. At the moment they do it based on risk profiling, most farmers never get an audit. The NVWA depends on the government in terms of budget and manpower. At the moment it is not possible to to check livestock farming in a serious way. More inspectors are needed, that’s the bottom line.”
