Collision between car and truck – total stop
A collision between a car and a truck has taken place on the E18 near Sandra, approximately eight kilometers southeast of Årjäng in Värmland.
The alarm came in shortly after 7 p.m.
– There is a complete standstill in traffic in both directions. Our personnel have just arrived at the scene, says Mats Öhman, press spokesperson at the police in Bergslagen.
The extent of the injury is currently unclear.

Cyclist taken to hospital – collided with truck
A cyclist has been taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter after a collision with a truck in Nacka municipality outside Stockholm on Wednesday.
– The cyclist was awake and able to speak when the person was taken to hospital. Beyond that, I cannot say anything about the state of the damage, says Ola Österling at the police.
The police are investigating the incident as causing bodily harm and failure to obey the right of way.
Two men arrested in the archipelago after shots were fired
Two men have been arrested in the archipelago just north of Blidö in Norrtälje municipality on Wednesday.
“A large number of shots have been fired on an island,” the police write on their website.
– We have been able to establish that they shot at paintings. The men have been arrested and we suspect a crime, says Ola Österling at the police.
After reports of gunfire, the police launched an extensive operation with a police helicopter and the maritime police.
– The effort is about to end. Now we are doing checks where we are trying to assess how and which risks arose with the shooting, says Ola Österling.
Total stop on the Västkustbanan
The trains on the Västkustbanan have been stopped after a several hundred meter long plastic blanket flew up and wrapped itself in the power line in Kävlinge municipality.
– We have a group that is out to remove the plastic. But the power line has 16,000 volts in it and is dangerous to life. Therefore, we have cut the power in a large area and then the trains cannot run, says Bengt Olsson at the Swedish Transport Administration.
According to a preliminary forecast, the trains will be able to run again around 21.00.
There are several train operators running on the route. Including Skånetrafiken, SJ and Öresundståg.
Some of the operators state that the route can be replaced by buses, while others are trying to reroute the trains. Affected customers are asked to follow the updates in the respective company’s app or online.
K-pop star Moonbin found dead – turned 25
K-pop star Moonbin has been found dead in her home, according to Korean media.
He turned 25 years old.
Moonbin was a member of the successful boy group Astro.
The cause of death has not yet been determined by the police.
Dozens dead after heat wave
The measured temperature of 40.5 degrees in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka on Saturday was the highest for the season since 1965.

Train collides with passenger car – woman dead
A passenger train collided with a passenger car in Mora municipality at around 4.30pm on Wednesday. Several passengers are said to have been on board the train.
Ambulance, police and emergency services were sent to the scene.
Later in the evening, the police announced that a woman had died in the collision.
– A 45-year-old woman has been identified as deceased. It happened on an unguarded railway crossing, says Mats Öhman, press officer at the police in Bergslagen.
It is unclear how the collision occurred and the car has been impounded.

The appeal trial against the spy brothers Peyman and Payam Kia ends today.
The brothers have made concessions before the appeal court hearing, writes TT.
42-year-old Peyman Kia – who was sentenced in the district court to life imprisonment for aggravated espionage and unauthorized position with secret information, has admitted that he provided secret intelligence information to Russia for payment.
He is now said to be trying to do everything he can to help the investigation move forward – and says that much of the information he sold to Russia has been “100 percent false”.
Payam Kia, 35, was sentenced to nine years and ten months in prison for aggravated espionage in the district court, has admitted that he handed over envelopes at the Russian embassy and collected payment at a library in Uppsala. However, he denies that it was espionage.
Today was the last day of the trial in the Court of Appeal – and the prosecutor thinks that the sentence for the younger brother should be increased to 14 years instead.

A total of 982,710 rats were caught in Sweden last year. That’s what recent figures from Anticimex’s digital rat units show.
– The increase in catches is partly due to the fact that we have placed more digital traps, but we cannot rule out that the rat problems have increased in Sweden, says Håkan Kjellberg to Norrländska Socialdemocraten.
Big problems with Spotify
Millions of Spotify users are currently experiencing major disruptions, reports the Daily Mail.

Tintin’s father is sentenced to prison
On Wednesday, the Luleå district court sentences Tintin’s father to life imprisonment for the murder of the boy, reports P4 Norrbotten.
It was in January this year that Tintin, 8, was found dead in his father’s apartment in Luleå. The father had recently, after years of custody disputes over the boy, been granted visitation for a few hours every two weeks.

The Swedish Cultural Council in Moscow is called home when the appointment expires in August, reports Sveriges Radio’s “Kulturnytt”. The position will then be vacant indefinitely.
Culture Minister Parisa Liljestrand (M) states that it is no longer possible to promote Swedish culture in Russia, after the country’s invasion of Ukraine.
– In Moscow and in Russia right now, those opportunities do not exist. And then it is better that that money can do other things, she tells the channel.
Large police effort in Gothenburg
A large police operation is currently underway in Bergsjön in Gothenburg. Several police officers and an ambulance are on the scene.
– We are looking for something that can match an alarm we received several hours ago, but we still haven’t found anything, says Stefan Gustafsson, press spokesperson at the police.

– We are investigating whether there might have been a mistake in the address, but we have no crime at all, says Stefan Gustafsson.

At lunchtime, the police received an alert about a robbery in central Malmö.
