The Mandalorian reveals new Baby Yoda name completely confusing some

Attention, follow spoiler!

The Mandalorian delivers at the end of Season 3 spectacular finale which comes up with some fast-paced action scenes. Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) and the other Mandos fight their way through the secret facility villain Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) built on Mandalore.

Despite Gideon destroying the Darksaber, Bo-Katan becomes the new leader of Mandalore and is able to unite the separate clans. At the end of the episode, Din wants the little one Grogu as a student in the Mando arts, but since he cannot speak for himself, he needs a parent’s consent.

The Mandalorian: Din officially adopts Grogu as a father

With no one knowing who or where Grogu’s parents are, let alone if they’re still alive, Din makes a decision that has been heralded since the beginning of the series: he adopts Grogu as his son. The armorer (Emily Swallow) then gives it a new name: Din Grogu.

One big question remains for many fans: if Baby Yoda’s name is Din Grogu now, does that mean we’ll be Din all the time called by the last name have? Should we actually say Djarin? Is that his real first name? The series itself does not provide any explanation for the handling of the naming convention. With Bo-Katan Kryze, at least we have certainty that Bo-Katan is definitely the first name.

Is the season 3 finale the end of The Mandalorian?

This happy ending could well be the end of The Mandalorian. However, series creator and showrunner Jon Favreau has hinted that the Screenplays for Season 4 are already written. Disney+’s most popular Star Wars series isn’t ending anytime soon. After all, the big The Mandalorian movie will follow soon.
