(Finance) – In the month of February 2023, the current account balance of the euro area closed with a surplus by €24 billion, up from January’s €19 billion surplus.
This is what the ECB found, according to which the component of services showed a positive balance of 12 billion, that of goods of 28 billion, while the primary item of income showed a red line of 5 billion and the secondary one a red line of 12 billion.
The current account deficit amounts to €114 billion (0.9% of euro area GDP) in 12 months up to February 2023, compared to a surplus of €222 billion (1.8%) a year earlier.
