The researchers at the zoo are doing this in collaboration with ACTA (Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam), which is conducting research into the functioning of enzymes in carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. “This allows us to see how you can best get the balance between the nutrients and how you can achieve a well-balanced diet. People can also use this when caring for their pet,” explains Hylke Steggerda, spokesperson for the animal park.
