Norfolk County council on Tuesday approved its 2022-2026 strategic plan.
“The 2022-2026 Strategic Plan defines how we will move forward with council-approved initiatives,” Al Meneses, the county’s CAO, said. “The plan provides the strategic direction to enable our organization to not only meet but exceed expectations as we deliver programs and services to our residents.”
The plan identifies the county’s priorities that will build on existing strengths. It sets a solid foundation for council and future generations.
Created with input from local businesses, community agencies, staff, and residents, the plan is a road map providing direction to guide the delivery of programs and services. It covers five priority areas:
– Empowering Norfolk – Putting the tools and resources in place to ensure our businesses’ and residents’ success.
– Building Norfolk – Develop the infrastructure and supports needed to ensure complete communities.
– Connecting Norfolk – Bringing the community together with cultural, physical and technological linkages.
– Serving Norfolk – Ensuring a fiscally responsible organization with engaged employees who value excellent service.
– Sustaining Norfolk – Creating a sustainable community and a positive legacy.
“On behalf of council, we are committed to embracing our mission, vision, and values to ensure we are doing our part to contribute to a high quality of life for our residents,” Mayor Amy Martin said. “Thank you to those who helped in building this plan. Your ongoing commitment to this community makes it a great place to live, work and play.”
Council also approved new mission, vision, and values for the county. The county’s mission is to provide valued public services that are responsive to our community’s needs.
The county’s vision is a vibrant community growing opportunity for everyone and its values include creativity, collaboration, inclusivity, confidence, integrity and respect.
