During the day or so that Filippa was missing, the family received thousands of calls from people offering their help in finding the 13-year-old. But 500 of the calls were hoax calls from youths – frustrating for the family who anxiously waited to find out what had happened. – I have had to answer all the calls, in the hope that it would give us some answers, says Filippa’s stepfather Allan Nielsen to Danish reporters. When 13-year-old Filippa disappeared on Saturday, the police immediately launched a major search operation. In one day, over 600 pieces of information were received, some of which could lead them to the property where they could find her on Sunday afternoon. Filippa’s mother has previously said how her body shook with happiness when the family received the news that Filippa had been found alive after a weekend marked by anxiety. The stepfather: Talk to your children The time when Filippa was missing also meant a long wait for answers about what happened. Her stepfather Allan Nielsen says the family received thousands of calls and messages from people who wanted to help. – But unfortunately 500 of them have been from young people who have had the need to make bus calls, he says while appealing to parents to talk to their children about how they handle information such as phone numbers. – It has been hard, and I hope you will talk to them.
