On Thursday, a 17-year-old person convicted of murder who was serving his sentence in a SiS home was released in connection with a dental visit.
At the same time, the government announces that it will give the Prison Service the task of strengthening security during transport. In a debate article in Aftonbladet the Minister of Justice, the Minister of Social Services and the Minister of Migration list the measures they want to see.
Review transportation
Among other things, the ongoing investigation into strengthened security at SiS homes is brought forward, the possibility of carrying out dental visits at the institution instead of transporting convicts to the care clinic is also being reviewed.
In addition, the government wants to set up special youth prisons for the most serious juvenile offenders and introduce stricter requirements for citizenship. Several of the measures that the government lists are things that have already been known that they want to implement, such as the measure to make it a criminal offense to run away from SiS homes.
