(Finance) – “The Ministry of Labour is next toInail to support and develop the safety culture. It is a fundamental theme, the safety in places of Work and of study it is extremely important”. This is the message launched by the minister Marina Calderone in a video message at the presentation of the 2022-2026 mandate lines of the Inail guidance and supervision council. “The ministry has given an important signal, we wanted to highlight this issue as a priority – he added – a cultural issue that must be addressed when training, studying and facing a path that leads to work. We have started a reflection on alternating school -Work”.
“L’objective – he continued – is to make schools, extra-curricular activities and the first work experiences of young people safer. Work has changed following the pandemic, the new forms have led us to map the new risks. Knowing to prevent: it is the point of reference for all our reflections”.
“Zero fatalities at work must be a common goal” of the Government, institutions and social partners, explained Calderone, reiterating the importance of “prevention and also re-education when dealing with the consequences of accidents at work, which we hope to reduce from the current numbers”. Numbers, he added, which “must accompany us to that zero vision which means not only fewer deaths at work, but zero deaths”.
Calderone then underlined that “there is a lot to do disclosure, a lot awareness, we need to put in place even more effective tools that can allow companies to invest in projects concerning safety and health in the workplace”. The Minister of Labor added that “talking about health and safety means creating a large alliance between the State and the intermediate social bodies to ensure that it does not remain a subject of study or confined within a document on risk assessment. But let it become one instead common sensitivity. The imperative is to make workplaces safer, starting with the newly defined ones”.
