The bears have started to wake up from their dens around the country. In Malå Sami village, a bear was discovered when Jörgen Stenberg was out checking the reindeer. It came walking in the forest, turned and started walking straight towards them.
In the video, which Stenberg himself recorded with his mobile phone, it initially looks threatening when the bear turns towards them. But then he reacted by starting to shout.
– Hey! Heh!, he is heard shouting in the video.
He started the scooter, kept calling – and quickly took the bear to flight.
Stenberg’s actions are completely in line with the Wildlife Injury Center’s recommendations for what to do if you see a bear from a distance.
