The police announced that 6 of those who consumed fake alcohol were hospitalized and an investigation was launched into the incident.
While 7 people were detained within the scope of the investigation, it is feared that the death toll will increase.
In December 2022, 70 people died due to the consumption of fake alcohol in Chapra and Saran districts of Bihar state.
The sale and consumption of alcohol was banned in the state of Bihar in 2016.
