New event “Environmental Week 2023” brings new Shinys and 3 new Pokémon

In Pokémon GO, the Environment Week event will be running again in April 2023. This time, a new Pokémon with its two evolutions is part of it. You can see what bonuses await you here.

What is this event? For years, Niantic has organized events based on the theme of the environment week. Now the details for the event, which starts in a few days, have been revealed.

Look forward to the new Pokémon Frubberl and its further developments Frubaila and Fruyal. You can get the three new Pokémon from the start of the event. We’ll show you what else awaits you here in the event overview.

Environment Week 2023 – Start, new Pokemon, Shinys, bonuses

When is the start and end? The event begins on Thursday, April 20 at 10:00 a.m. local time. It will then be active for just under a week, ending on Wednesday April 26th at 20:00 local time.

New Pokemon: Frubberl, Frubaila, and Fruyal are the three new Pokémon of the event.

  • You can evolve Frubberl into Frubaila for 25 Frubberl Candy
  • You can evolve Frubaila into Fruyal for 100 Frubberl Candy

    • You can’t find the shinys of this Pokémon family for the event yet.

    New shinys: For the first time you can catch Shiny Rotomurf in Pokémon GO. We show you his Shiny version and that of his further development Stalobor here:

    Pokemon in the wild: During the event, you will encounter Squirtle*, Muschas*, Wailmer*, Rotomurf*, Waumboll*, Lilminip, Lithomith*, Tarnpignon*, and Froxy in the wild more frequently. With luck also on Larvitar*, Bithora* and Frubberl (Pokémon marked with a star * can be caught as Shiny).

    2km Eggs: Kikugi*, Rotomurf*, and Frubberl can hatch from the 2km Eggs you receive during the event.

    Field research: Completing field research, which you receive during Environment Week, will reward you with Rotomurf encounters, among other things.

    Event Bonuses:

  • If you reach the “Hyper Buddy” level with your buddy Pokémon, it will give you souvenirs more often
  • When you reach Super Buddy level or higher with your Buddy Pokémon, it will bring you gifts more often, which often have berries in them. With a chance of Silver Pineapple Berries
  • After feeding, your buddy Pokémon will accompany you longer
  • The distance to earn hearts with your buddy Pokemon is halved
  • The distance to earn Candy with your buddy Pokémon is halved

    • New Avatar Items: If you want to dress up your in-game character to match the new Pokémon, you can do so with new avatar items.

    The items are in green and pink and thus go well with the look of the three new Pokémon. You can choose between a Frubberl hat, a Frubaila shirt and the Fruyal boots.

    More exciting dates await you in the next few days. These include limelight hours and a Community Day Classic.
