The 27-year-old Veenendaler, the number 31 in the world, got stuck in the opening round of the second largest tennis tournament in the Netherlands last year. He then lost to the Finn Emil Ruusuvuori. In 2018, Van de Zandschulp participated in the qualifying tournament and even then he was unable to win a match.
