A Riot employee asked the ChatGPT AI what to reply when people ask him about a rare item in Valorant. The AI responded with harsh consequences for the players

What is the special item? It is the “Riot Gun Buddy”, a weapon pendant in Valorant. It’s pretty hard to get in the shooter because: Players have to be nice. So nice that a Riot employee gives the pendant as a reward.
Although Riot Games explicitly writes that it is unlikely that the item will be awarded when a player asks (via support-valorant.riotgames.com), the employees seem to be repeatedly written to by players.
User @RiotJiaxsun, who says he works as a security engineer at Riot Games, asked ChatGPT for an answer when players ask him for a gun buddy. He shared the result on Twitter.
“It’s not the guns that break the games, it’s the players who demand exclusive items”
The AI ChatGPT first thanks the player for the message, but promptly announces the bad news. The request to get a Riot Gun Buddy is denied. Here the AI shows itself to be sensitive:
“We understand that owning rare items in the game is a tremendous joy. But we have to prioritize fairness and equality among all our players.”
You wouldn’t make an exception. But then the AI goes one step further: The request would even violate the rules of the game. The action that follows:
“We are sorry to tell you that you will never receive this Riot Gun Buddy and we must take action to ensure this type of behavior does not happen again.”
With a heavy heart, the player is banned – permanently, in all Riot Games, forever. Because you have to enforce the rules of the game and make sure everyone is playing fairly.
The AI wishes the hypothetical player to be able to turn to other games without strong feelings. “And who knows, maybe you’ll find loot in another game that really hits the mark.”
But it doesn’t stop there. Finally, ChatGPT puts a PS in the message:
“It’s not the weapons that break the games, it’s the players who demand exclusive items. We will stand by this decision, so please do not try to violate our policies again. We don’t want to have to reload and ban you a second time.”
