The Swedish embassy in Pakistan has been closed since last Wednesday due to the security situation in the country.
“There is an increased risk of terrorist threats in Pakistan, particularly in Islamabad,” the embassy writes on its website website.
Caution is advised
At the same time, Swedes staying in the country are urged to be more “vigilant and careful, especially in areas where many people gather and in the vicinity of diplomatic missions, religious meeting places, hotels and restaurants”.
The embassy writes that demonstrations have taken place both in Islamabad and in other places in Pakistan and that further demonstrations may occur.
