Back after more than ten years of absence, Dead Island 2 recently offered us eleven minutes of fun and brutal gameplay that we knew before.
Contrary to what one might think, building an open world survival game in the middle of the apocalypse is not always easy. Seen and reviewed, the survival-horror genre has not always met with success, and Dead Island has been living proof of this since this license, although very popular with fans, has had a more than chaotic history in recent years. Between a development that regularly changes hands, and multiple production difficulties, Dead Island 2 will have been pushed back a decade to achieve a version that can be discovered on eighth generation of consoles as well as on next-gen. A release that we now owe to Dambuster studios, and eagerly awaited by fans eager to dive back into a world ravaged by zombies in swimsuits. We tell you everything.
If you played the first Dead Island a little over a decade ago, you won’t be surprised at the gameplay nature of this new outing. The game arises once again in a post-apocalyptic survival FPS, in a Los Angeles taken over by hordes of bloodthirsty zombies. Once again, you will have to navigate this environment dead and alive, completing main and secondary quests. You will have at your disposal a skill tree, tools to craft your weapons and gadgets, and loot to collect in this semi-open world.
As a surprise announcement for the opening night of Gamescom 2022, Deep Silver and Dambuster finally presented us with the long-awaited Dead Island 2, through a gameplay trailer that surprised us with its graphic quality and… announcement of a release date. And yes, you are not dreaming, Dead Island 2 is planned for the next April 21an output that can be found directly on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox Series and Xbox One. It would therefore seem that the development nightmare is entirely over for Deep Silver, while fans are happy to reconnect with a license that has proven its worth.
Like any good self-respecting release, Dead Island 2 offers you different editions, directly available for pre-order on various sales sites.
