While he was given for dead, Thabo Bester was arrested in Tanzania on Friday evening April 7 while he was probably heading for Kenya, with his partner and accomplice, the doctor for celebrities Nandipha Magudumana.

The arrest of the couple of criminals puts an end to a series which held South Africa in suspense and which highlights the failures of the penitentiary system.
Like the great scammers, Thabo Bester deceived his people by multiplying fake identities. Nicknamed the Facebook rapist, he was sentenced to life in prison in 2012 for raping several women to whom he dangled a modeling career. On May 3, 2022, the prison administration announced that Thabo Bester died in the fire in his cell. In reality, neither the size of the body nor the DNA correspond to him, as revealed by the Ground Up investigation site last March.
Yet declared dead, the fugitive reinvents his identity and mounts new scams from the beautiful districts of Johannesburg, with his partner, the doctor for celebrities Nandipha Magudumana. But his business collapses when the journalistic investigation comes out. The police set off after him… until his arrest in Tanzania where he was arrested, dressed like a local and in possession of several passports. His partner and a Mozambican citizen were also arrested. They were probably on their way to Kenya. The investigators will have many questions to ask him, starting with this one: who was the man found dead charred in his cell?
