President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced the start of the official iftar tradition! Zelenskiy attended the iftar dinner given by the Ukrainian state with Ukrainian Muslim soldiers, leaders of the Crimean Tatar National Assembly and representatives of Muslim clergy at the ‘Unity’ building, which is the Crimean Tatar Cultural Center in the Kiev region, yesterday.
IFTAR MEAL WILL BE GIVEN EVERY YEAR WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF THE PRESIDENT OF UKRAINE
Zelenskiy, in his traditional daily address to the nation, in which he discussed important issues since the beginning of the occupation, made the following statements about the iftar dinner given at the state level;
“We are adding a new tradition of respect to the official life of our state. Hundreds of thousands of Muslims in Ukraine and the Muslim community of the world – different countries, different nationalities – fast during the holy month of Ramadan. Iftar is served after sunset. This is respected everywhere in Ukraine, and even at the front, even in wartime conditions.
The Crimean Tatar people respect the month of Ramadan… Respect should always be mutual.
Therefore, from this year, such a special event of homage will be held annually in Ukraine with the participation of the President. And this was held for the first time today at the Crimean Tatar Cultural Center. The world should know: Respect and order in international relations will only return when the Ukrainian flag is returned to Crimea, when there is freedom there, just as it is everywhere else in Ukraine.
