(Finance) – The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrovstated that the Russia is open to a negotiated to end the war with Ukraine if its interests are taken into account. “Unfortunately the West does not have a constructive attitude”, he added during a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in Ankara, “starting from Washington: they don’t want to see rivals in the international arena. They show hostility towards countries that have an independent policy”.
“In the media – he answered a question about the possibility of a meeting with the US Secretary of State – it has been said that I will meet Anthony Blinken, they asked him too. If we receive a request of this type from America we could evaluate it”.
“The western parts they ask everyone to obey the rules set by United States. Washington has made many announcements but these declarations will not end the war”, stated Lavrov, according to whom “theWest wants the resurrection of Nazi ideology in Ukraine”. The Russian foreign minister compared the West to the Nazi Germany, stating that Western countries are trying to provoke Russia in the same way. “They do this to weaken Russia,” Lavrov added, stating the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenksy leads a “Nazi regime”.
Lavrov also said his country could abandon the deal that unblocked them grain exports from the ports of Ukraine, through a safe corridor in the Black Sea, if the export of Russian products is not allowed as well. “If there is no positive progress in removing the obstacles for Russian grain and fertilizer exports, we will evaluate whether this is a necessary agreement,” Lavrov said, adding that “it will be created in Türkiye a center for sending Russian gas to world markets”.
The Turkish foreign minister stressed that “the war” in Ukraine “should end through the dialogue and the negotiated, and Turkey expects this”.
