The great recognition of the Swedish ski ladies – here they break Norway as the world’s best national team

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The ski season is over and it was successful for the Swedish national ski team.
Now it turns out exactly how good it was for Sweden.
When the money list reveals that Sweden has the world’s best national team on the women’s side.

The Swedish national ski team has lined up successes during the season that has been and broke double records during the winter. Most medals ever during a skiing World Cup and most podium places of all time at the World Cup for our blue and yellow gang on the ski tracks.

The Swedish success

The success is also clearly felt when the prize money for the World Cup has been announced. Especially on the women’s side, it is a grand slam for Sweden, which has three skaters in the top 10, more than any other country and above all more than arch-rival Norway.

An enormously strong statement considering that it was the Norwegian ladies who won the national cup for Sweden and also a Norwegian who won the overall world cup. At the very top we find Frida Karlsson which shares first place with the Norwegian overall winner Tiril Udnes Weng of 1.8 million Swedish kronor in pure prize money for the World Cup, see the entire money list below.

Frida, Ebba & Jonna

Karlsson’s big highlight during the World Cup was of course winning the entire Tour de Ski around New Year’s. The other two Swedes are Jonna Sundling in fifth place with SEK 1.2 million earned and Ebba Andersson in sixth place with just under a million in prize money.

On the men’s side, it was not entirely unexpected that Norway took care of the top three places on the money list, see the whole thing below. The dominant Johannes Hösflot Kläbo is by far at the top with a whopping SEK 4.3 million earned during the season.
