Rich Brazilian wants to buy strongest hero in German MMORPG – owner has been playing him for 16 years, demands €100,000

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The MMORPG Tibia was created in the 90s in Regensburg and will still be played in 2023 – but hardly in Germany, but in Poland and South America. The most successful player is a Polish woman who plays with her boyfriend: they have been number 1 and 2 in the MMORPG for years. Now the woman received an “immoral offer”.

Who are the strongest players in Tibia? It’s two Polish players who have been playing together for years and who, according to reports, are a “virtual and real” couple:

  • Bobeek plays an Elder Druid – he is also active on Twitch.
  • Goraca, his girlfriend, is traveling with a “Master Sorcerer” in Tibia. The character was created on September 9, 2007, so is 16 years old.
  • Bobeek was number 1 for years, but in November 2020 Bobeek died stupidly, losing experience points and his partner, Goraca, passed him (via tibiaservers). She has kept that lead to this day.

Goraca is currently level 2317, Bobeek is at level 2310 – third place is about 80 levels away.

“Number 1” player receives immoral offer

Now what is the immoral offer? As reported by a Brazilian Twitch streamer, a friend of his is planning to buy the character from Goraca:

  • Der Freund plays Sorcerer himself and is ranked 46th worldwide
  • He now wants to acquire the “Number 1” character
  • According to the streamer, that’s also realistic, because his friend is “very wealthy.” And apparently Goraca is interested in selling, but has a clear price idea.

    The dream couple from Tibia.

How is the negotiation going? It is said that Goraca asked €100,000 for her character. According to the streamer, this is also a fair price.

The potential buyer and the seller are now in negotiations.

The streamer says he was recently offered around €37,000 for his top 10 character worldwide. He rejected that, it was not enough for him.

MMORPG Fans Debate: Should She Sell?

That’s the discussion: There is a lively discussion on reddit as to whether Goraca should sell the character. Most seem to think yes, she should sell:

A user says: It would be smart if Goraca and Bobeek both sell and collect their characters now while they are ahead. Because players are on their heels who “level more efficiently than they do”: So there is a risk of losing 1st and 2nd place in the foreseeable future away:

It’s great to quit as “Tibia’s top duo” as opposed to “Previous Tibia top players who were overtaken by player X”. You need to know when you can go undefeated. Being number one gives you the opportunity to charge outrageous prices.

It is said that as long as they are still #1 and #2 as the “Top Duo”, their characters are valuable – they should now sell and take a long vacation. The two could keep their guild and then start again with other characters.

Others add: 100,000 euros is a lot of money in Poland, you can live on it for years.

A third says: This is also an ideal time to start a new life and change daily routines.

Is it so easy to trade chars? Yes, in Tibia this is actually possible via the “Char Bazar”. But CipSoft in Regensburg receives a share of the purchase price.

In other games there is “illegal char trading”, but there is a high risk of being banned. Therefore, character purchases are not openly discussed in many other MMORPGs either, since it is an invitation for the game developer to ban the account.

We recently reported that Goraca’s friend Bobeek also received an offer to sell his char. Apparently that was too insecure for him. The offer for the character of Goraca now seems very tangible:
