Donald Trump is indicted on 34 counts in the court in New York. He denies all the charges. Over 30,000 police had been called in to keep order in the streets outside the courtroom on Tuesday. Donald Trump went with heavy security to the courthouse in lower Manhattan to have the indictments formally read out in the courtroom. He was arrested when he arrived at the courthouse, but was later released and allowed to fly back to Florida after the hearing. Outside the courtroom, hundreds of both supporters and opponents of Trump had gathered. According to CNN, protesters on different sides had rallied even before the former president approached the courthouse. The indictments are presented American media were denied live coverage of the court, but the 34-count indictment was released after Donald Trump left the court. All 34 counts are about falsified entries in the books, which the prosecutor says were made to hide the fact that money was paid to three different people to keep them quiet – including the porn actress Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford. In the accompanying document Statement of facts, the prosecutor explains the prosecution further. There, the prosecutor writes that Donald Trump orchestrated a plan together with others to influence the election in the United States in 2016, by identifying and buying negative information and thereby preventing it from being published, and having done it for his own gain. He is said to have thereby broken the electoral laws. Donald Trump has denied all the allegations. To speak in Florida later Trump has said he will give a speech after he returns to Florida and the Mar-a-lago property. The prosecution in New York is one of several ongoing investigations. He is being investigated at the federal level for the documents found at his Mar-a-Lago estate, he is also being investigated for his actions in the 2020 election as he is accused of pressuring local representatives and his actions during the storming of the Capitol.
