Life without Targaryens is possible, but pointless according to HBO. The blond dragon owners from Game of Thrones already have their own show with House of the Dragon, but it won’t stop there. According to a new report, the broadcaster is flirting with a series about the conquest of Westeros.
This is known about the possible new Game of Thrones series
HBO has tasted dragon blood and is at one Series about Aegon I Targaryen interested, as Variety reports exclusively. In case you are not familiar with the history of Westeros, here is a short synopsis:
The story of Aegon would be something like the ultimate Game of Thrones series (beyond Game of Thrones). It involves elaborate battles, an incestuous trio starring, a difficult relationship between that trio and, of course, dragons. And what dragons! Aegon soared atop Balerion, the largest dragon in the history of the fantasy world. His older sister rode Vhagar, whom we saw as an older lady in House of the Dragon, and his younger sister Rhaenys saddled Meraxes, the second largest dragon at the time.
The series could be the first feature film from the Game of Thrones world
HBO hasn’t ordered the series yet, but is trying to get it into development quickly, according to Variety. There could be a novelty in the fantasy world based on the novels by George RR Martin: a feature film that prepares the series. But nothing is in the towel yet.
The Aegon series is one of many currently under discussion on HBOincluding:
10,000 Ships about the warrior queen Nymeria, set about 1000 years before the main series
However, it is unclear whether the series will become reality. HBO has a keen interest in further series set in the world of Westeros, but so far none of the projects have made it past the development stage to an official order.
