The controversial site Dumpen, with Patrik Sjoberg and Sarah Nilsson in the lead, has a few days ago published information about a policeman in Malmö.
According to Dumpen, the man must have sought contact with young people in various chats and social media for sexual contact.
On one occasion, according to Dumpen, the policeman allegedly asked the person he thought was a 14-year-old for a picture of the genitals. After that, they must have arranged to meet in central Malmö. When confronted, the person covered his face and left the scene.
Policeman confronted by Dumpen – reassigned
When News24 when the police in the South region say that the preliminary investigation has been closed and that the case is handled internally.
– We were contacted by special investigations that received information from this group, but the prosecutor’s assessment was that they dropped the preliminary investigation. So therefore they hand over the information to us and then we need to assess the material and decide whether to initiate disciplinary proceedings. It takes a few weeks, they say Jarl Holmströmdeputy regional police chief in the South region.
The police were sent home from work
The man in question must have been on duty during the evening in question when Dumpen confronted him whereupon he was sent home, says Jarl Holmström.
– In this case, we interrupted the ongoing duty pass and the colleague was sent home. Now he has been reassigned to a more suitable assignment until further notice.
The police are taking the situation seriously, despite this the policeman is still on duty. Jarl Holmström believes that it is a sharp assessment that must be handled in such a situation.
– In cases like this, there are two different perspectives that we have to handle professionally. One is a rigorous assessment of whether we should initiate a disciplinary procedure and, on the other hand, a handling of an employee who has been mentioned with negative framing. That is a sharp assessment.
