Several people were injured when a train with at least 50 passengers on board derailed early Tuesday. According to the country’s emergency services, several people are said to be seriously injured, reports De Telegraaf.
The accident happened at the community of Voorschoten, which is located between The Hague and Amsterdam, states.
Early information claims that the train collided with a freight train. The first carriage of the passenger train is said to have derailed and gone into a field after the collision. The second carriage in the set is said to have overturned and there is also reportedly a fire in one carriage.
