We look at the usage details of the monitor in the ViewSonic VX3268 Review, which stands out with its 2K resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate.
I’ve been using Viewsonic’s VX3268 2K model for a long time. In this process, of course, I had the chance to look at the monitor in detail, including daily use, game and console performance. Now let’s take a look at the features of this monitor with 2K resolution, but more importantly, the usage experience.
ViewSonic VX3268 Review / 144Hz 2K Gaming monitor
As the monitor name suggests, it’s 32 inches in size. It has a 144 Hz refresh rate and a response time of 1 MS on the MPRT side and 3 MS (GTG) from gray to gray. Viewsonic has made a nice system here. When you set it to 1 MS mode from the settings, the brightness is slightly reduced and you can reach 1 MS from gray to gray. The color gamut of the monitor is also quite good.
It has a resolution of 2K, that is, 2560×1440. The 2K resolution is ideal for dual window use, especially in daily work rhythms. Especially if you use applications like Premiere frequently, you know that 1080P monitors are starting to fall short in this regard. It is possible to use such programs more effectively on 2K, 4K or widescreen monitors. Therefore, I can say that it has made my work much easier for video works. On the other hand, the recent arrival of 2K support for PS5 has put such monitors in an important place for console players. I have used this monitor extensively for both.
First of all, when we look at the box contents, apart from the monitor, it comes with a power cable, DisplayPort cable, a quick start guide and screws. When we look at its design, we encounter a very thin frame structure on the top and sides. At the bottom, the Viewsonic logo and notification light draw attention. The monitor, which has a curve of 1500R, has a stylish and simple design.
The build material quality of the monitor is quite good. Matte coating is used and although the main structure is made of plastic, a high-quality appearance is provided. A forked structure is preferred in the foot part. There is enough space under it to fit equipment such as a soundbar. The most important disadvantage on the design side of the monitor, which has Vesa support, is that this leg is stable. In other words, when you turn it right and left, you have to turn it completely due to its monolithic structure. On the other hand, you can incline 3 degrees forward and 21 degrees backward.
With the analog structure at the back, it is possible to quickly navigate through the menus and access shortcuts. You can easily switch between six different modes from the menu. In the game mode, there are three different modes as FPS, RTS and MOBA. Apart from this analog structure, there is an on-off button and a hotkey that you can switch between ports just above.
Speaking of input and output ports, the monitor has two HDMI and one Display port. In this way, enough input units are provided for your consoles as well as your computer. There are also two 2-Watt speakers, apart from a 3.5mm headphone jack. Although I usually use headphones and a soundbar, there were times when I used this speaker frequently. It offers good performance for daily use.
The monitor uses sRGB 100%, Adobe RGB 89% and DCI-P3 96%. We have to say that they are very good values for a monitor in this price range. One of the best aspects of the monitor is its energy efficiency. The device draws almost no power when powered off and almost turns itself off even in standby mode.
I can say that the ViewSonic VX3268 model offered a performance that met my expectations in both work and games with its image quality. Color accuracy is fine, especially nice that it can accurately display black colors. Thanks to its 3000:1 static contrast, it offers an ideal performance for multimedia use as well as gaming.
VA panel is used as the panel on the monitor. The biggest advantage of the VA panel is that it does not cause big losses on the color side in angled viewing. This is very important on a curved monitor anyway. Even at a 178-degree viewing angle, our monitor does not experience any color loss.
ViewSonic VX3268 also features AMD’s FreeSYNC technology. With 1 MS response time and Freesynch support, a smooth gaming experience is provided without input lag. In addition, the product of course includes many classic technologies that minimize eye fatigue such as FlickerFree and Low Blue Light.
As a result, the use of a VA panel has managed to put the monitor on the price-performance side. You can feel the difference of strong contrast ratio and high brightness values in big budget games. In competitive games, we generally recommend 24, 27 inches and 1080P resolutions. But if you play such games occasionally and focus more on AAA productions, 2K, 4K monitors like the VX3268 become much more useful. If you are looking for an affordable 2K monitor, the ViewSonic VX3268 model is one of the models you can take a look at.
