Malå’s municipal councilor Lennart Gustavsson (V) wrote in a press release that was sent out to the media on Friday that the electricity price would be lowered in the municipality on April 1. But it was all an April Fool’s joke that was sent out a day too early, reports SVT Nyheter Västerbotten.
“Skellefte Kraft intends to annually draw a municipality where the company’s customers receive a fifty percent electricity subsidy for one year. The lot has fallen on Malå for the first year,” the press release said, among other things.

– It was of course a mistake to send out a day too early. It was a way to add some humor and maybe a laugh or two.
