The rail operator has found 250 of its own office employees willing to be a so-called train assistant for two days a month for a year. They do not have the authority to check tickets, but they can answer questions from travelers. And, especially on long trains, they form an important extra pair of eyes when closing the doors. That is work that a conductor cannot actually do alone.
