Final Fantasy 14 is not considering adding the NFT system to the game, and the game’s free trial feature will return on February 22.
Square Enix president announced last month that they are looking forward to the Final Fantasy 14 NFT system. However, after the reactions from the players, Yosuke Matsuda stated that they will definitely not add the NFT system to Final Fantasy 14. Yoshida made his statement on the subject, which the Final Fantasy 14 developer team regularly performs. Letter from the Producer announced on live broadcast.
Final Fantasy 14 gave up on the NFT system
Yoshida had this to say about NFTs in summary:
“Looking at the basic development principles of Final Fantasy 14, we do not plan to add an NFT system to the game for now. If there are players who are worried about this, they should keep their minds at ease”, he added, “For now, if there are players who are in doubt, let’s state it clearly, We will not add NFT to FF 14.”
During the livestream it was also stated that the free trial version of Final Fantasy 14 will be reactivated this Tuesday (February 22nd). The free trial of the game was removed from the game due to server problems after Endwalker’s release.
During the broadcast, graphics enhancements coming to Final Fantasy 14 were also introduced. Hair and skin skins of character models will be improved, as well as armor textures will be improved and better shaders will be used.
