Turkey’s parliament ratified Finland’s membership in NATO on Thursday evening.
Thus, the last obstacle to the country’s NATO entry has been removed. On Monday, Hungary’s parliament voted yes.
The decision was expected because Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave the green light some time ago, but it was still unclear whether the decision would make it to the parliament’s agenda before the elections in mid-May.
Turkey and Hungary are the only countries that have not yet approved Sweden.
