The PC version of “The Last of Us Part 1” gets a lot of criticism on Steam for the technical implementation. Now the developers are speaking out.
The Last of Us is arguably one of the most popular games of all time. The original version of the game on PS3 has an extremely strong 95 rating on the Metacritic review platform. The PS4 remastered achieved the same value in 2014.
The big announcement followed in June 2022. The hit should get a remake on PS5 and – it gets even better – also appear for the PC. A Steam release is imminent. This is what PC gamers have been waiting for for so long.

On March 28, 2023, the PC version was released. But instead of rejoicing, the players are disappointed. Reviews are mostly negative a day after the official Steam release – only 33% of the 6,800+ player reviews give the PC port a positive rating (via Steam)
The game has numerous technical problems – shaders load very slowly, performance is poor and unstable. Problems that the colleagues from GameStar Tech also confirmed.
Naughty Dog responds to the criticism
How are the developers reacting? Naughty Dog, the studio behind The Last of Us, took to Twitter for criticism of their game. They say they’ve heard the games’ concerns and are now investigating the reported issues.
The developers have also compiled a list of known problems on the studio’s website (via feedback.naughtydog.com). The following errors are listed there:
Finally, if you encounter a bug that is not listed in the recent patch notes, the studio encourages you to fill out a ticket on the support page.
Unlike the PC port of The Last of Us Part 1, things ran for the first season of the TV series. This was very well received by many fans and earned a lot of praise – also from MeinMMO editor-in-chief Leya Jankowski.
