Accidents happen especially in small mines, such as the gold mine in the Nyange region of South Kivu province in the video, which collapsed due to heavy rains.
The video shows a man standing at the mouth of a collapsed gold mine. Suddenly, a miner stuck in a mine pops out of the rubble and slides down the slope. People following the situation cheer with joy when they realize that hope is not lost.
Soon, more stranded workers are able to escape. In the end, nine mine workers managed to escape alive and well.
