Duo is poked after missteps: "Need to talk privately"

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The Swedish duo apologized for their actions during the last U23 gathering in February. After the match against the Netherlands in Spain, where Kullashi was the team captain and Mukasa was in goal, the team would travel on to Florence for the match against Italy.

But when the direct flight was canceled and the trip rebooked, the two Rosengård players chose to go home.

“It was a wrong decision. I apologize for it and it won’t happen again,” Kullashi told the Swedish Football Association’s website.

The matter still does not seem to be completely acted out.

Next collection in July

When national team captain Martin Qvarmans Möller on Tuesday presented his squad for the U23 internationals at home against Spain on April 6 and away against Portugal four days later, both Loreta Kullashi and Angel Mukasa were missing.

Mukasa is injured and would not have been able to participate regardless, but Möller admits that what happened during the last gathering had an impact on the squad selection.

— What happens on and off the field is always a whole. We need time to sit down and talk before the next gathering, which is in July, says Möller.

TT: You need to sit down individually before they are simply current?

— Yes, you can interpret it that way. I spoke with them as recently as yesterday, and had quite long conversations with both of them, and they want to meet me. So we will meet.

The decision was somewhat made easier by Mukasa’s injury and given that Kullashi is one of the overage players. Only five of these may be included in the U23 squad.

There is no longer any conflict between the national team and the two players, is the national team captain’s experience.

— The dialogue we have is about how we move forward. Then it is clear that I was surprised and a little disappointed by the way they acted. But the way to move forward from here is that we try to find a good way to work together.
