Modo sent AIK on vacation

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

It was AIK who completely owned the match in the first period. But the most important thing was missing – a goal.

— We’re having a great period and doing what we’ve said we’re going to do. But we have to get dividends. If we continue, the goals will come, said AIK player Erik Flood in C More after the goalless first period.

And of course Flood was right, the goals came – to Modo. At Hovet, the away team took the lead through Theodor Niederbach. Minutes later, David Bernhardt made it 2–0 for the Örnsköldsvik team.

The AIK players looked stressed, but they got an important reduction through Oscar Öhman.

“It’s far too cheap, we let them score two goals easily,” Öhman said after the second period.

In the third, Modo scored two quick goals to take a 4–1 lead. It was an impossible task for AIK, who certainly got a puck in, but never got closer than that, and Modo is through to the semi-finals after a total of 4-2 in games.

The winner of the Hockey Allsvenskan playoffs gets to play in the SHL next season.
