The Diablo 4 Open Beta rewards you with tons of powerful items. That’s what we want, but it won’t stay that way.
What’s going on in the beta:
Why is there so much loot right now? Diablo boss Rod Ferguson confirmed on Twitter in response to a question that the drop rates for legendary items are significantly increased in the beta. We also noticed this during testing.
The best farming spots in Diablo 4 have at least one orange drop every few minutes or so. The world boss Ashava even drops up to 6 Legendaries when you defeat them.
This makes it easier for you to farm certain effects and put together your own builds. On the one hand, the testers are happy about that, on the other hand, there was criticism: when Diablo 4 throws loot around like that, it becomes inflationary. Equipment depreciates. But it won’t stay that way.
You will find here the best builds in Diablo 4 with gameplay. Most recently, we played the new druid as a powerful werewolf alpha:
“A fuller experience during the beta”
Ferguson emphasized in the tweet that the drop rates for the beta are increased. This means that there will probably be significantly less to be found in the finished game from June, Legendarys will become rarer again.
Once you get used to seeing something glowing orange all the time, you’ll have to adjust to significantly fewer loot explosions at launch. By the way, there are no set items, at least not for release.
We can’t say how much the drop rates will be adjusted downwards yet. One issue at the moment is that some builds only work with certain Legendaries. In fact, the druid is nearly useless without the right gear.
Blizzard is working on technical improvements with the data from the beta, but also on balancing. What exactly is happening, we probably only know shortly before release.
