Blizzard has gone to great lengths to signal diversity and inclusion with Diablo 4. With success, it seems: one player is so overwhelmed by the character creation offer that she weeps with joy live. Tens of thousands like this.
Who is the player? ActuallyArcane creates content for Blizzard games, primarily World of Warcraft. On Twitch, TikTok and YouTube, she mainly explains gameplay for the arcane mage in WoW. But also test the new action RPG Diablo 4. While the community is tearing itself apart, it provided a ray of hope.
In one of her reactions, she shows herself creating a druid. Diablo 4 has a character creation with many options, which was not possible in most parts before. So many details can be adjusted.
Druids are actually being criticized right now, partly because of their looks. Many fans just don’t find the class aesthetically pleasing because it has a little too much meat on its ribs.
But for ActuallyArcane, that’s exactly what makes her cry: “She looks like me. She is just like me. Thank you.” Representation is important to the player, and Blizzard did just that with the druid:

The open beta was a bit bumpy. On the first day, there were queues lasting several hours and a huge rush, as well as errors and problems with the game itself. Most of the time after that, however, almost everything ran smoothly and many fans were finally able to get a picture of Diablo 4.
Basically, the game is well received, even if there is criticism – including the druid, especially when it comes to balancing. The classes are far from where they should be. It remains to be seen what will change before the release in June.
